How to Install a VTube-LASER or VTube-STEP Update
Our Update Policy Requires an Active SMA
- Only customers with an active SMA (Software Maintenance Agreement) are entitled to update VTube.
- Send an email to support@advancedtubular.com if you want to check the status of your SMA.
- If your SMA is not active, we will ask if you want a quotation for reinstatement of the SMA.
- If your SMA is active, then you can proceed with the steps below.
Safest Time to Update
- We recommend that you update VTube during our regular business hours (if possible). Our office is open for business Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm.
- If, after installation, VTube reports that the validation is unsuccessful, please email a screenshot of the error to support@advancedtubular.com, and we will help you fix the issue as soon as possible. If you email us during regular business hours and need to get VTube running ASAP, call us at 248 674-2059 for immediate support.
Technical Requirements for Updates
- The installation process requires access to the Internet.
- You will use an Internet browser to download the latest installation program.
- These steps assume you are updating the same computer that a current license of VTube is installed.
- Please do not uninstall your current version. The new installation program will create a new Program Files (x86) folder with the latest version - leaving the previous version in place. This will also ensure the previous configuration is kept and used for the new VTube-LASER license.
To Update, Follow These Steps
1 - By email (support@advancedtubular.com), request that we send you credentials for the update. Proceed after we respond.
We send credentials like this (examples only):
- Installation program password: 1234567890
- Cloud License ID: 12345678
- Cloud License Activation Password: ABCDEFGH
2 - Close VTube-LASER on your system.
3 - Browse to and download the latest version from this page: https://www.advancedtubularsupport.com
4 - Run the installation program.
5 - Enter the password we sent you.
5 - After installation, a new shortcut on the Desktop will point to the new version.
6 - Delete the shortcut that points to the older version.
7 - If you have pinned a VTube icon to your taskbar, right-click it, and choose "unpin."
8 - If you had an icon pinned to the taskbar, then drag and drop the new desktop icon to the taskbar. This will pin the correct shortcut to the taskbar.
9 - Run the new version of VTube-LASER. Confirm the new version and build by watching the splash screen.
10 - VTube will probably check in with the cloud license server.
11 - If VTube asks for cloud license credentials, use the credentials we send you.
12 - VTube will call the license server through the Internet, validate the license, and then load.
- If VTube reports that the validation is unsuccessful, please email support@ a screenshot of the error. We will help you fix the issue as soon as possible.
13 - The VTube update is complete!
