Question and Answer - Why Not Leave the End Scan Flier Filter On in VTube-LASER?
- End scan flier filters only work if the end trim is perpendicular to the attached straight centerline. Therefore, curved (like coped) end trims don't work well in the filter.
- The end scan flier filter requires a high point count from the surface scanned. It does not work when the measured point count is small - like with tactile measurements (using a ball probe). Some customers use systems without laser scanners.
- Some customers don't want to qualify for an end length in the correction process. So they turn the filters off.
