HEXAGON RDS Clean Re-install
We discovered that the scanners could intermittently stop communicating with RDS in both of our test HEXAGON scan arms. This problem was occurring in both versions 5 and 6.
HEXAGON tech support shared a simple solution that seems to work well (see the instructions in the next section).
Follow the instructions in this PDF document to perform a clean re-install of RDS.

This means completely removing RDS, deleting certain folders, and then even deleting specific Windows registry settings related to ROMER. When that is complete, the install the new RDS driver.
Caution! Deleting items in the registry is an action that could stop Windows if used improperly. Please follow the document with care.
