VTube Update History 4.4 - March, 2025
Version 4.4 Build 1798 - March 28, 2025
1 - Assembly Control can now trim any part in the assembly from either end using the new Trim feature.
This allows for quick measurement of the partial tube shapes on either end of long parts for qualification.
2 - Assembly Control now has two new buttons to allow the entire selection of tubes to influence the alignment or only the currently selected tube to influence the alignment by pressing one of two buttons in the new Assembly Control ALIGN tab menu.
3 - Assembly alignments now correctly calculate the tangent point deviations in non-active tubes included in the alignment.
4 - We added the high-speed Best-fit Alignment 5 to the choices of assembly alignments.
This allows all align-selected tubes in the assembly to affect the alignment using best-fit alignment 5. This addition makes assembly alignments much faster than before.
5 - We added the new shortcut Ctrl-Shift-R to perform an assembly alignment rather than a single-part alignment (Ctrl-R).
6 - We added a switch in System Options to allow for activation or deactivation if VTube system-wide font size control.
The default value is inactive until switched to active. We recommend leaving this setting inactive unless you need larger fonts so the controls display the ideally designed default font sizes.
Version 4.4 Build 1795 - March 26, 2025
1 - The font size value in System Options now propagates to all grid menus in the STEP and LASER interface.
2 - The left menu, the navigation pane, the right menu, and the top toolbar can now be resized.
VTube will remember the size in a configuration file. Panel resizing may be necessary when users increase the font size in System Options.
Version 4.4 Build 1794 - March 26, 2025
1 - We fixed a bug for a linear dimension using a round slot as a target location.
The linear dimension pointed to one of the round slot-embedded circle centers. Now, it correctly points to the slot center.
2 - We fixed an unbent tube labeling display bug.
Version 4.4 Build 1792 - March 25, 2025
1 - We expanded the flexibility of Space Object transformation and translation by including more choices for what objects transform.
Version 4.4 Build 1790 - March 25, 2025
1 - Several UI changes were made to improve the handling of space objects in VTube-STEP and VTube-LASER.
- VTube now removes deleted space object models from the VTube-STEP screen.
- VTube has an added close button on the far right side of the Space Objects control window, which allows users to close the expanded window quickly.
- VTube Space Object label names can now be turned on in linear dimensions.
- The VTube test dimension color has been changed to grey so the user will know that the test linear dimension is not yet committed as a Space Object.
2 - We added the COM PORT number to the Bender Setup Other Notes caption when selecting the Eaton Leonard Bender protocol.
3 - We added the IP Address value (if present) to the Bender Setup Other Notes caption for all Bender protocols.
Version 4.4 Build 1788 - March 25, 2025
1 - We fixed an access violation error when creating linear dimensions in the VTube-STEP-only license.
2 - The test linear dimension now correctly clears from the VTube-STEP screen when the graphics are refreshed..
Version 4.4 Build 1787 - March 22, 2025
1 - VTube-STEP can now draw linear dimensions.
2 - This version of VTube-STEP no longer creates multiple copies of the same model for the same space object during a project load.
Version 4.4 Build 1786 - March 21, 2025
1 - Batch Change can now change the tolerance values in XYZ Tan Mid grids, XYZ Intersection grids, and the Bender grids in any number of VTube project files.
This saves users from forgetting to press the Default Set button when loading project files with new tolerances.
2 - Batch Change now changes values in all the tubes in an assembly in a VTube project file.
(Previous versions would only change the first part of the assembly.)
3 - The Bender LRA deviation tolerance values are now included in the assembly storage.
4 - We fixed a subtle bug, so editing the global config in Notepad++ and pressing Reload in System Options works again.
5 - The UI in the batch windows has been improved so that the checkboxes have a less wasted buffer on the left, allowing longer checkbox titles.
Version 4.4 Build 1785 - March 18, 2025
1 - VTube can now transform space objects in 3D space with transforming tube objects.
- This allows VTube to inspect space objects in transformed print orientations.
- Rotate a part to the print orientation, and the holes and slots can follow.
2 - Linear Dimension space objects can now draw dimensions parallel to any tube straight.
- Linear Dimensions can now align with any tube straight.
- Linear Dimensions can now snap and calculate dimensions to the XY, XZ, or ZY planes.
3—When VTube creates a new Nominal space object, it also creates a new parallel Measured space object.
This allows for the setup of measured objects before they are measured.
4 - A new popup command in the Space Object grid allows users to copy from Nominal to Measured Space Objects.
This is helpful when there is no measured data - but the user needs to set up measured data.
Version 4.4 Build 1784 - March 17, 2025
1 - We fixed an Abstract Error that could occur when installing VTube on a new system.
Version 4.4 Build 1783 - March 10, 2025
1 - We fixed the End Length grid in the Inspection Menu so that the grid always shows the entire height of the cells for all display setups.

After | ![]() |
2—We improved the Batch project change windows by checking for redundant paths. If a redundant path is found, VTube skips it when processing the batch.
3 - We improved the HMT protocol badge with a better bender image.
Version 4.4 Build 1781 - March 6, 2025
1 - Batch File Conversions can now search any number of multiple (even disconnected) folder structures.
2 - USB keycheck is now more tolerant.
If the USB key check fails, it will continue to try silently for four attempts before asking for a user Retry.
3 - The PassFail LRA Attribute switch bug was fixed.
This switch would not store and recall inside project files correctly. It does now.
4 - The Diameter checkbox was re-inserted to the DCP Batch change window.
The Diameter value in the Diameter Cut Plane window is necessary for some users. So we added it back.
5—Manually changing the tolerances or deviations in the LRA Inspection menu will now always update the user PassFail indicators.
The previous version would not update until the user changed to another menu.
Version 4.4 Build 1778 - March 4, 2025
1 - The Bender Data Ltol, Rtol, and Atol fields now fill with the default tolerances listed above when creating a new project with new values after a project clears.
2 - We added a default Inspection Data menu in System Options.
This setting is stored in the persistent global configuration file.
3 - We added a switch in the Inspection menu, allowing LRA data to pass inspection when the Length deviations are positive.
This is a project-level value stored in each unique VTube project file.
4 - We fixed a Measure Tube Averaging (MTA) issue where MTA would not work properly because of the recent changes to the Tube Data Storage menu.
5 - The Diameter checkbox is removed from the DCP Batch change window.
The Diameter value in the Diameter Cut Plane window would change the diameter in Part Setup - which was not helpful for batch processing. The result was that all parts could have the same diameter after a batch change. There is rarely a circumstance where this is useful because most customers have a variety of diameter parts.
